A cut below the rest
Posted on Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 at 6:28 pmOne of the things I hate paying for (mostly because I’m cheap) is haircuts for the boys. Whenever we go it takes them about fifteen minutes and costs between $12-15. That’s $72 an hour y’all. Not to mention that I am never all that thrilled with the cut they get.
So of course in my delusion of myself I think I can cut the boys hair – and when I’m feeling really practical (read: cheap) I break out the clippers, scissors, and comb and set to it.
Heee heee hee.
Someday I might not be so um – practical – but that will probably be because I won’t have the time or I can’t bribe them with candy anymore…
It’s Halloween right? Your just ummm… doing a homemade costume? Just kidding, I think that is one of the joys of motherhood. They won’t care, why should you? If its really that bad, parents will assume they did it themselves
I feel bad for mommies out there just for that reason- $15 bucks for a kid’s haircut! That is so ridiculous! Here’s a promise: the next time I see ya whether at a family reunion or whatever I will give you a lesson on haircuts. I actually think you did pretty good!
Michelle – yeah, I wish it was for a costume. Maybe I’d win ‘Best Bad Haircut costume”.
Albanie – I will TOTALLY take you up on that. You’d crack up b/c I got a book from the library (Haircutting for Dummies) totally convinced I could do it. Yeah, I couldn’t even make it through the book
I need to fix Will’s – since I used the clippers on Walker I feel more comfy with those. And I noticed that the back of Walker’s head is REALLY uneven. So I’ll try to get that lined back up. Maybe….
I’ve always done the clipper job myself. Too cheap as well. Until now…Noah is almost 7 and has decided to be different and grow his hair out. I’m not sure I can cut it the way it needs to be to avoid the “shaggy dog” look, but with Kyle needing his first haircut, it also means 3 kiddie haircuts to pay for. BAH
