Mummies and Mommy

This week in our “mommy preschool” we’ve in our been learning about Ancient Egypt. Our friends (and cousins) the Hatches got us hooked on the Magic Tree House series (wait, we’re old enough for series books?!?!). So instead of doing random subjects for preschool, as I have in the past, we’re basing our time off the subjects covered in the books. It’s so much fun. This week we’ve written our own scrolls, drawn hieroglyphs, and today, we dressed up as mummies.

Walker wasn’t quite sure how he felt about the whole thing. We’d read a chapter in our Ancient Egpyt and the pictures of the mummies were, well, a little real! So when he got all dressed up he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. He kept saying “I’m not a mummy, I’m a little boy.” I think he was worried we’d stick him in a crypt and send him to the nearest pyramid.

Will loved every minute of it! He was totally enthralled with the entire thing. He loved everything but the teeth on the mummy.
