Still, when I walked into the shoe store with the boys I had a defined notion of what shoes we were going to avoid. Light-up shoes. The boys have had them before and I was ready to move past them.
However, when they saw the new ones…they were thrilled.
And it was totally worth it:

Oh the memories. I so wish that I had taken that very same picture of Eric sleeping with his shoes, new coat, new G.I. Joe, “Joey,” and the list goes on. Alas, they are but pictures in my memory that come to life in those adorable boys!
