A New Tradition
Posted on Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at 2:59 amWhat is our new weekly tradition?
Family run night!
Eric has been putting in some serious miles** every week in training for his 10k on the 24th. I was starting to miss him since most of the runs are at night after the kids are in bed.
So we agreed that one night a week, usually Tuesdays, we’d run together. It’s a 3 mile run – which I can do – not like the 8 and 9 mile runs he does some nights. Plus with the boys we go slow so I always finish feeling like I could do more…
It is so much fun. The boys get out and run with us. Tonight each boy probably ran about 2k (a little over a mile). They hop in and out of our “baler” so it’s a little hard to track. It’s a picture perfect moment to see Eric and Walker running hand in hand or to hear Will’s feet keeping pace with me while he talks my ear off.
Here we are after FRN tonight (notice how tired E and I look and how fresh the boys still look! Darn youth…):

** Eric has booked 196 miles since August! He’s even considering a 1/2 marathon THIS November! Go Babe!
What a great idea for the family! Not only are you both amazing for how much you’ve been running (I have such a hard time motivating myself!), but what a neat way to do things with the family and stay physically active.
YOU ARE ALL AWESOME ! ! ! What a memory you are giving to your boys. You do need to take pictures so you will believe it when you are 70.
you guys are AWESOME!!!
Love it! And what a great way to teach the boys exercise can be fun!
Holy crap that awesome go Family!
